Runoff Results
Below are the results of Tuesday’s runoffs in the 7th Congressional District and a few General Assembly races determining the nominees for the Republican and Democratic parties for the general election in November.
7th Congressional District
In the newly created 7th Congressional District, both Republicans and Democrats held a runoff today to see who would represent their respective parties in the general election in November – the new district encompasses Myrtle Beach and the Pee Dee.

Preston Brittian | 6,718 | 27% |
Gloria Tinubu | 17,876 | 73% (winner) |
Senate District 8
The Senate seat currently held by Senator David Thomas (R - Greenville) will go to a recount to determine who will get the GOP nomination. Senator Thomas placed third in the primary and did not make the runoff.

Joe Swann | 2,748 | 50% |
State Senate District 35
The runoff to receive the GOP nomination for retiring Senator Phil Leventis (D-Sumter) was an overwhelming victory for Tony Barwick, CEO for Palmetto Pigeon Plant

State House District 41
District 41 is currently held by retiring Representative Boyd Brown (D-Fairfield) – Representative Brown declined to seek reelection to continue to pursue his law degree.
