Solar Energy S. 536
A solar energy bill was adopted by a Senate subcommittee last week and will be before the full Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday. Read more here.
Public Library Trespass S. 183
Library directors are asking S.C. Legislators to ban visitors who are disruptive or engage in behavior that makes others feel unsafe or uncomfortable. The officials are backing a state Senate bill that would make it a misdemeanor for someone to refuse to leave a library when asked by a library staff member or security, or to return to the library after being banned. Transportation Funding
The chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee thinks the only chance for substantial transportation funding this year is to get creative with time running out on the Senate calendar, The Greenville News reports. Read more here.
Cannabidiol Oil Bill S. 1035
A bill that would allow children with severe epilepsy to obtain an oil extracted from marijuana to help control their seizures passed the state Senate on Wednesday, after an amendment allowing doctors to prescribe the oil was approved earlier in the day. Read more here.
