Karin McGinnis served as speaker for MCB CLE: Non-Traditional Non-Competes

MVA Employment & Labor Member Karin McGinnis served as a speaker for the Mecklenburg County Bar CLE titled, “Non-Traditional Non-Competes” program held on March 24. Karin joined the panel of experienced employment litigators to discuss alternative approaches to protecting legitimate business interests in these and other tricky situations. The panel discussed when to use and how to draft enforceable alternative provisions, such as forfeiture provisions, trade secret and confidentiality clauses, and post-employment restrictive covenants. Additionally, the panel reviewed applicable cases, trends nationally and in North Carolina, and discuss practical advice on alternative approaches to resolving disputes in this area.
