Luis Lluberas and Zachary Smith Participated in 2022 ABI Caribbean Insolvency Symposium
Moore & Van Allen (MVA) Member and Restructuring Team Co-Leader Zachary Smith served as the Co-chair for this year’s American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) Caribbean Insolvency Symposium which took place Feb 7-9 at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo. A faculty of prominent bankruptcy judges and experienced practitioners provided a top-notch learning experience and ample networking opportunities at this annual ABI conference.
At the conference, MVA Financial Restructuring Member Luis Lluberas was an invited speaker and served as moderator for the panel, “Can I Pay for this Restructuring with Points? Distressed Debt in the Travel & Hospitality Industry” which took place on February 8. This panel, which included hospitality industry leaders and the Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida, discussed the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the travel and hospitality industry, including how airlines, cruise lines and hotels have managed through the crisis so far, what’s next for the industry, and the unique issues that arise in hotel property workouts and bankruptcies.
