A longtime federal white-collar criminal prosecutor in North Carolina is taking her skills to the defense side of the courtroom, joining Moore & Van Allen to “further deepen” its team of white-collar defense lawyers in Charlotte, a firm leader said. Jenny Sugar joined Moore & Van Allen as a firm member in its white collar, regulatory defense & investigations group on April 15 after 20 years as a prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Washington, D.C.

Sugar’s skill as a prosecutor, leadership experience and “deep familiarity” with the Justice Department, SEC and other regulatory authorities “will greatly benefit our clients facing white-collar criminal and government enforcement actions,” added John Fagg Jr., co-head of both litigation and white collar, regulatory defense & investigations practices, said in a statement.
