Brandon Gaskins, the attorney representing Shem Creek Development Group, said that while his clients are "pleased" with the court's decision to deny a rehearing, it comes at the cost of the residents of Mount Pleasant.

Four years after the initial judgment the balance remains and is getting bigger, accruing thousands of dollars in interest each day.

“Unfortunately, my client’s gain comes at the expense of the Town’s hardworking taxpayers who have had to foot the bill for the poor decisions of their elected officials,” Gaskins said in a written statement.
