Moore & Van Allen PLLC (MVA) is pleased to announce that Litigation Member Elena F. Mitchell has been selected for the Charlotte Business Journal’s 2025 class of 40 Under 40 honorees.
The CBJ’s highly competitive 40 Under 40 awards program, now in its 32nd year, spotlights 40 individuals under the age of 40 who are making a difference in the region. This year, over 150 candidates were put forth for consideration. Honorees were selected based on noteworthy leadership, professional accomplishments, and contributions to the greater Charlotte area. They will be formally recognized at an awards event on May 8 and featured in a CBJ special report on May 16.
Mitchell, who was elevated to member this past January, has served clients as a member of MVA’s Litigation team for nearly a decade and is also a founding member of the firm’s DEI Advice, Legal Compliance & Assessments team. In her day-to-day practice, she helps clients navigate complex litigation matters, regulatory issues, and high-stakes internal and government investigations. Additionally, she advises companies, government entities, and nonprofits on diversity, equity, and inclusion-related initiatives and related reviews, audits, and investigations.
Mitchell is also committed to driving change through pro bono work. She annually dedicates more then 50 hours to her pro bono practice representing human trafficking survivors and individuals with minor offenses on their records through restitution and expunction-related service.
