Moore & Van Allen Member Lesley Firestone Selected for South Carolina Lawyers Weekly Influential Women of Law Class
Moore & Van Allen PLLC (MVA) is pleased to announce that Environmental Member Lesley A. Firestone was named to South Carolina Lawyers Weekly’s 2025 Influential Women of Law list. Honorees will be formally recognized during a ceremony on May 8 and in a special section of the publication.
The long-running Influential Women of Law program honors outstanding women lawyers and judges who are making a difference in the profession and their communities.
In her practice, Firestone handles complex environmental law matters in and around the Charleston region advising a broad array of clients, such as lenders, real estate developers, manufacturers, landfill operators, renewable energy developers, and investors. She provides clients with guidance in the purchase or sale of contaminated properties and the permitting, compliance counseling, and resolution or avoidance of environmental enforcement issues. Firestone regularly leads her real estate clients through the process of obtaining Voluntary Cleanup Contracts for redevelopment of contaminated properties. Firestone also brings and defends challenges to permitting decisions before government agencies and the South Carolina Administrative Law Court and has handled matters before the South Carolina Supreme Court and South Carolina Court of Appeals, where she previously worked as a staff attorney.
As an advocate for Charleston’s civic and business health, Firestone also continually seeks and acts on opportunities to serve around the region. Her legal practice enables her to weigh in on important environmental matters that affect and benefit the state of South Carolina. Further, she is a proven leader in Charleston’s legal community. She serves with the Charleston Chapter of the Industrial Network Group, participated in Leadership Charleston’s 2020 class, as past auction chair of the Wine, Women & Shoes event, which benefits the Florence Crittenton Programs of South Carolina, and in the Charleston Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy, among various other commitments.
