Fernandez quoted in Charlotte Business Journal

Charlotte Corporate Member Joe Fernandez was featured in the Charlotte Business Journal on January 19. As part of the Charlotte Business Journal’s Largest Law Firms survey, attorneys from participating firms were asked how artificial intelligence, machine learning and other automation methods are impacting local law practices. He described how Moore & Van Allen uses the latest legal technology to perform tasks more efficiently and provide better service for clients. Fernandez stated, “Moore & Van Allen actively uses AI and machine learning tools. In our transactional practice, the firm uses AI software to help conduct large-scale due diligence and to automate the review of contracts and the extraction of relevant contract provisions. In our corporate practice, the firm uses AI software to build databases for contract management or compliance calendars.  In our litigation practice, the firm uses AI software for the review of large document productions. The AI software helps to limit “noise” and frees the firm’s lawyers to focus on legal issues.”
