Intellectual Property Team Receives International Recognition
Moore & Van Allen’s Intellectual Property team and Charlotte Intellectual Property Member Henry Ward have been recognized in the first edition of IAM Patent 1000— The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners. Moore & Van Allen was one of five North Carolina firms named, and Ward was one of five North Carolina attorneys ranked.
IAM Patent 1000 identifies the top patent practitioners in significant jurisdictions around the world. The guide builds on the success of last year’s IAM Licensing 250, in which Moore & Van Allen and Ward were also recognized. The guide was compiled over a five-month time period, during which an IAM research team conducted telephone interviews with private practice lawyers and attorneys, as well as their clients, in countries around the world.
Patent 1000 describes Moore & Van Allen’s IP group as being “oriented towards the non-contentious side of patents, with prosecution, licensing and general transactional issues taking up much of its attention. It also lends the benefit of its prowess in corporate transactions involving significant IP assets.” It goes on to say that Ward is “valued for his dexterity in licensing deals.” The complete profile on MVA can be found here.
The goal was to identify the practitioners and practices that companies can consult “when only the best patent work will do,” IAM magazine editor Joff Wild wrote. “The firms and individuals listed in the IAM Patent 1000 are the results of that endeavor… we are certain that everybody who is listed deserves to be so.”
