MVA Public Affairs member Canaan Huie has been voted #5 in the top 10 most powerful lobbyists in North Carolina by Longleaf Politics readers. Lobbyists help shape policy, represent interests and keep people informed. Longleaf Politics recognized the most powerful and influential lobbyists in the business. Longleaf stated, "Huie is a former general counsel for the North Carolina Department of Revenue and currently a lobbyist on the powerhouse team at Moore & Van Allen. He knows his stuff: Huie spent more than a decade drafting legislation at the General Assembly." Huie was one of more than three dozen nominated individuals. Also nominated and receiving votes were MVA Director of State Public Affairs Andy Munn and Cameron Henley.
