MVA Attorneys to Join Charlotte Mayor’s Trip to China

MVA Global Services Member Steve Hader will join Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts and 10 other delegates on a trip aimed at strengthening relationships and encouraging foreign investment. The 10-day trip begins Friday, and it marks the first time a Charlotte mayor has gone to China since Anthony Foxx went in 2011.

Sumter Packaging, Moore & Van Allen, HNTB, the Carolinas Chinese and North American Chinese chambers of commerce, Domtar, Taxtyme, Malartu Foods and UNC Charlotte will all have representatives in the Charlotte delegation. They will visit five cities: Beijing, Baoding, Shenzhen, Nanning and Hong Kong.

Business visits and meetings will include Chinese companies in financial technology, energy, automotive and professional services. The number of Chinese firms located in the region has grown to 42, up from five in 2008, according to the Charlotte Chamber.
