MVA assists Urban Ministry Center and Men’s Shelter of Charlotte in recent merger

As of April 30, Men’s Shelter of Charlotte and Urban Ministry Center are legally one organization.  Led by Charlotte Corporate Member Wade Sample along with Charlotte Tax Member Rob Fisher, Corporate Member Steve Hope, Benefits Member Danny Johnson and Employment Member Paul Peralta. Their boards began this journey with the belief that combined resources and a unified voice will move the needle on ending homelessness.  

While the legal merger is complete, the actual integration of the two organizations will happen in stages.  In coming months, you will continue to see both “Men’s Shelter of Charlotte” and “Urban Ministry Center” separately or co-branded, until the board finalizes their unified brand later this fall.
