Moore & Van Allen Receives First LEED Gold-certification of all Carolina Law Firms
Moore & Van Allen recently obtained the Green Building Standards required for GOLD certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building rating system for Commercial Interiors, becoming the first LEED Gold-certified law firm in the Carolinas.
The LEED Green Building rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, is a rigorous third party certification process that measures a number of specific construction standards geared toward a high-level of environmental sustainability.
An environmentally-responsible law firm, Moore & Van Allen places a great deal of emphasis on green living and regularly implements programs and initiatives aimed at encouraging workplace sustainability. Moore & Van Allen called upon Perkins + Will, an international design firm specializing in environmentally-responsible buildings, to renovate 14,000 square feet for private offices, open office workstations, conference, support and touch down space using sustainable and recycled materials including carpet and ceiling tile containing high-recycled content, cork flooring, recycled wood fiber, and Energy Star rated equipment.
