Myrick Named Incoming Justice Initiatives Chair
Charlotte Litigation Member Tom Myrick was named the Incoming Chair of the nonprofit judicial advocacy organization Justice Initiatives. Myrick will succeed the Honorable Chase Saunders, who led the organization since its 2004 inception. Myrick most recently served as the Justice Initiatives Treasurer.
“We are indebted to Judge Saunders for his work to build this organization,” said Myrick. “Under his leadership, we have grown and provided much support for the court system in Charlotte, NC. I am honored by the opportunity to serve as Incoming Chair, and certainly have big shoes to fill.”
Justice Initiatives, Inc. was formed by a group of civic leaders, lawyers, business owners and concerned citizens in North Carolina. Members recognize the following tenets: the rule of law is the bedrock of civilized society, a healthy court system is critical to safeguarding this foundation, and the effective and efficient administration of justice is essential to a strong, prosperous and vibrant community. Some of the group’s efforts include program development to address the deficits in the public’s understanding and appreciation for the rule of law and role of courts in the republican form of government, fundraising to initiate judicial programs and services that build public trust and confidence in the courts, and academic partner studies.
