Myrick's Estate Representation Receives Media Attention
Charlotte Litigation Member Tom Myrick was quoted in the Charlotte Business Journal’s Real Estate Roundup section on September 16. The article, “Faison vs. Faison in lawsuit over developer’s estate,” overviews the suit filed in Mecklenburg County Superior Court by the sons of developer Henry Faison, who died in November 2012. Faison’s sons have sued his namesake firm, Faison Enterprises Inc., asking that it honor his plans for a charitable trust and forego nearly $200 million in assets he left to the company.
Myrick, who is representing the estate, stated the suit was filed “to ensure Mr. Faison’s charitable intentions are carried out.” Charlotte Estate & Wealth Planning Member Neill McBryde and Litigation Associate Taylor Stukes are also working on the case.
