Charlotte Public Affairs Associate Leslie Pedernales was a featured speaker once again at the South East Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors’ (SEATOA) 2017 Annual Broadband & PEG Conference in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on March 27. Pedernales spoke on a panel, “Copyright for PEG Programmers,” that provided attendees with information on what copyright is, what kinds of things it protects, how long it lasts, how PEG stations can use copyrighted material (Creative Commons licenses, fair use, or getting permission), and how television producers can protect their own creative works.
SEATOA is a professional organization composed of individuals serving citizens through city and county government and regional authorities in the states of Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee in the development, regulation and administration of voice, video, data communications, broadband and PEG operations and information systems services.
