Reigel Represents MVA as AHA Fit-Friendly Sponsor
Moore & Van Allen is pleased to serve as the American Heart Association’s 2011-2012 Greater Charlotte Fit-Friendly Companies signature sponsor. In conjunction with the sponsorship, MVA Chairman Ernie Reigel announced this year’s Fit-Friendly Companies and other awards at the Greater Charlotte Annual Leadership Breakfast on Friday, March 30.
There are 28 greater Charlotte companies that have earned the title “Fit-Friendly.” The Fit-Friendly Company program, a component of the AHA’s My Heart. My Life. initiative, is a national recognition program for companies going above and beyond to create healthy lifestyle programs for the employees. The Fit-Friendly guidelines include criteria in the areas of nutrition, physical activity and corporate culture.
“Moore & Van Allen is honored to be able to recognize the winners of this award for helping lead a healthy movement with their worksite wellness programs,” Reigel stated. “Becoming a Fit-Friendly Company is a great way to be recognized by potential employees and the community as a company who cares.”
Regiel presented Gold and Platinum Level Fit-Friendly awards, a Worksite Innovation Award, and two additional leadership/fundraising awards. Other speakers at the breakfast included Jim Stanley, Senior Vice President for Power Delivery with Duke Energy, and Laurent Therivel, leader of AT&T Mobility for North and South Carolina.
Breakfast attendees were encouraged to participate in Fit-Friendly and other AHA initiatives, such as National Walking Day, National Eating Healthy Day, and the annual Heart Walk.
