Overview
Prior to joining Moore & Van Allen’s Litigation group, Roderick practiced with the firm’s Corporate group, focusing in mergers and acquisitions. He brings this background in transactional matters to a comprehensive representation of clients in complex litigation matters, including antitrust matters, contract disputes, and financial services. Roderick also focuses his practice on internal investigations and regulatory response and compliance matters.
Roderick earned his B.S., summa cum laude, from North Carolina Central University and his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, where he served as president of the Black Law Student Association. While in law school, Roderick worked in the Community Law & Business Clinic, where he gained experience in corporate governance matters involving startup companies and nonprofit organizations.
Representative Experience
- Represented financial institutions in inquiries brought by federal agencies. Regularly conducts internal investigations related to complex financial and/or employment law matters, including allegations of misrepresentations to regulators and discrimination, retaliation, and harassment
- Researched and drafted two winning briefs on novel conflicts-of-law issues involving North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia law
- Representing large financial institutions involving remediation following consent orders and preparing narrative responses to demonstrate compliance with regulatory commitments
- Represented private equity clients in a series of add-on acquisitions in his prior experience in Moore & Van Allen’s Corporate group
