Overview
Stephen counsels individuals and family offices on the income, gift, estate and generation-skipping transfer tax consequences and tax reporting issues that arise in connection with wealth transfer planning transactions. Additionally, he advises on the administration of complex estates, as well as the trusts and estates aspects of mergers and acquisitions and other corporate matters.
Stephen also assists charitably minded individuals and families with forming tax-exempt organizations and complying with applicable excise tax and regulatory requirements.
Prior to joining the firm, Stephen practiced for over eight years in the trusts and estates department of an international law firm headquartered in New York City. Stephen regularly advises clients based in South Carolina and New York on estate and trust planning and administration matters.
