Immigration Update

Immigration Practice Team

Effective as of July 30, 2007, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will increase fees for the majority of their petitions and applications.  This will mean an increase in the filing fees for nonimmigrant visa petitions (such as H-1B and L-1) as well as permanent residency (“green card”) applications.

Please note that while the filing fees for these applications will increase, supplemental fees such as the $1500 ACWIA Fee (applicable for H-1B petitions), $500 Anti-Fraud Fee (for L-1 and H-1B petitions) and Premium Processing fee of $1000 will not be affected.

Listed below are some of the most commonly filed petitions and the specific fee increases for those petitions.  This fee increase applies only to petitions and applications filed after July 29, 2007.  If you have questions on the impact of the fee increase on specific cases, please contact our office.
