MVA hosts “Representing Victims of Human Trafficking” CLE
MVA recently hosted a “Representing Victims of Human Trafficking” CLE in response to several requests from attorneys across the city who want to learn more about this growing pro bono opportunity. Sarah Byrne, head of MVA’s Human Trafficking Pro Bono Project summarized the law surrounding the crime of human trafficking and addressed the variety of ways attorneys can provide meaningful legal services to victims. After the program, several attorneys asked to volunteer with MVA’s project. This program was the third in a Human Trafficking Speaker Series co-hosted with the Charlotte Junior League. Please contact Stephanie Gryder or Sarah Byrne if you are interested in volunteering with MVA’s Human Trafficking Pro Bono Project. The Project has been recently recognized by North Carolina Lawyer’s Weekly and the University of Baltimore School of Law.
