Overview
Anup maintains a sophisticated intellectual property practice, with experience that encompasses patent preparation and prosecution, patent searching, freedom-to-operate opinions, and infringement analysis, to due diligence analysis, invalidity opinions, and trademark clearance and registration. He advises clients on crucial IP considerations surrounding technologies such as semiconductors, optical communications, artificial intelligence (AI), fintech, quantum computing, cybersecurity, and high-performance computing. Anup also has significant experience navigating and advising on patent eligibility matters related to Alice.
In addition to his IP counsel, Anup leverages his acute understanding of developments in AI to advise clients on the full spectrum of legal issues surrounding the development, adoption, and use of AI-based technology products and services.
Before launching his law practice, Anup was a patent agent at Moore & Van Allen. To broaden and enhance this experience, he earned his J.D. the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, then returned to practice as a member of the firm’s IP Group.
With a master’s degree in electrical engineering, Anup also often leverages takeaways from his research on mitigating optical fiber nonlinearities using machine learning techniques and work on implement machine learning techniques to analyze gait in patients with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) for a more accurate diagnosis.
