Overview
Dan Cordero is an associate on Moore & Van Allen's Financial Regulatory Advice & Response team. He has over a decade of experience in financial and regulatory compliance both as an attorney and as an in-house compliance officer.
Dan represents globally systemic, regional, and community banks, credit unions, fintech companies, money services businesses, and brokerage firm clients and helps them navigate complex banking, securities, and regulatory and supervisory matters. He works closely with financial institutions in response to regulatory enforcement actions and assists with regulatory reporting, compliance, governance, consent orders, and other regulatory issues. Dan has also supported early-stage companies with respect to company formations, stock option plans, seed round financings, venture capital financings, and general corporate matters.
Dan brings an understanding and knowledge of the business objectives and pressures of his clients. He formerly served as compliance officer at large global institutions where he built and ran compliance programs. His prior experience includes serving as compliance manager at Morgan Stanley, compliance officer at UBS, and as the Deputy Head of the Americas for the Financial Intelligence Unit and Sanctions teams at Natixis. He developed subject matter experience in Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption compliance.
