Overview
Tyler focuses his practice in the areas of domestic and international trademark and copyright development, prosecution, protection, and licensing, including performing clearance work, filing new applications and registration renewals, drafting Office Actions responses and enforcement letters, as well as conducting brand audits for new and existing IP. Tyler further assists clients in the areas of social media and internet law, including enforcement and protection on traditional platforms, as well as providing guidance on use and protection in the metaverse. He also regularly conducts due diligence and secured transactions in the context of mergers, acquisitions, and credit facilities.
Tyler’s clients span in a variety of industries, including music and video entertainment; beer and alcohol; food products and services; computer software and hardware; computer and video gaming; outdoor furniture; hardware and security products; HVAC and refrigeration; pharmaceutical, biotechnical, medical and healthcare; clothing and apparel; banking and finance; print and broadcast media, as well as social media influencers; and racing entertainment.
Tyler earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law in 2017, where he was the Executive Editor of the Michigan State University International Law Review. He earned his B.A. , magna cum laude, in International Affairs as well as Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture from Wagner College in 2012, where he played Division I FCS football and was selected to the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society, the Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society, and the Sigma Delta Pi National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society.
